I easily finished Alien: Isolation and Resident Evil 7 which are actual horror games unlike Fallout 4, and not only that, but they're considered some of the scariest horror games of all time next to Outlast. I just couldn't stand all those bloodflies and the radscorpions. I somehow managed to make it to the "entrance" of the Glowing Sea and that's where I decided to give up because there was no way I could get past that place. When I had to go further than Diamond City, I played the game in a small 800圆00 window rather than full screen, and still didn't go off main roads. I spent most of these 50 hours in "safe" areas, and mostly building my base in the Sanctuary. I only got to Diamond City and never really went off main roads because forests, swamps and similar places are by far the worst for me. The reason why I find this game so scary is because of mutated creatures jumping out of nowhere.Īccording to Steam, I spent 50 hours playing this game, and that's probably true. In fact the mods’ creators said the movie The Witch was a massive inspiration for the mod, and if you haven’t seen it – I have, don’t watch it because it is incredibly disturbing.įor those that feel the post apocalyptic world of vanilla Fallout 4 was just not scary enough then this mod should be the next thing you download. There are plenty more changes to the engine as well to make it feel like you are stuck in the movie The Witch.
The mod features lens emulation, film grain, adjustable letter-boxing, optional sharpening, and a lift shadows function that can be disabled for deeper shadows. Well that is all about to change with a new mod that completely customizes Fallout 4 to make it feel like you are stuck in a nightmare and it’s called Pilgrim-Dread the Commonwealth. The world and atmosphere in Fallout 4 can be a little hairy at times, but I wouldn’t go as far as to call it scary.
